As Mary Katherine Ham tweeted yesterday - the New York Times covered Bush's 'townhalls', but covers Obama's town halls.
And kudos to CBS' Chip Reid - and Helen Thomas, of all people - for making Gibbs squirm on the question of how the audience and most - if not all - of the questions were selected for yesterday's online 'townhall' on health care.
The point isn't whether or not tough questions were asked. The point is that the questions were screened and approved ahead of time - not by, say, the Heritage Foundation or American Enterprise Institute - but by Obama staffers, and presumably Obama had time to prepare his responses to most of these questions.
