But unfortunately,it was short-lived. Not sure what happened exactly. Following the proceeding via Twitter, one minute I heard word that Boehner had the floor with 'unlimited time' and that he would read the entire bill. A filibuster for the ages! Alas, the next minute, word was that he read 'only' the 300 page amendment and the vote wast taking place. (I guess Boehner didn't have a phone book or encyclopedia handy?) The House indeed ended up voting on the 'cap and trade' bill, and it passed 219-212 - with 8 Republicans voting for and 44 Democrats voting against.
Now on to the Senate, where Sen. Jim Inhofe is declaring the bill to be DOA. We can only hope.
